Join us as a Childcare Activity Leader, creating fun, safe, and engaging experiences for children during the summer holidays



Location: Esher, Surrey



Hours: 8.15am - 5.45pm, Monday - Friday



Pay: £12.71

Contract: Casual Contract

Summer Camp - starting 20th July 2026 for 6 weeks

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute structured and exciting activities that encourage maximum participation, such as multi-sports, games, arts and crafts, structured play, and more ensuring they are age-appropriate.

• Follow all Health and Safety protocols and policies, including signing in and out processes.

• Provide refreshments for the children.

• Create an inclusive and fun atmosphere for the children in our care, from picking them up from school to safely delivering them back to their parents or caregivers.

• Collaborate with the team to plan and execute structured and exciting activities that encourage maximum participation, such as multi-sports, games, arts and crafts, structured play, and more.

• Ensure all activities are age and skill-appropriate while prioritizing safety, including the proper use of equipment and space.

• Provide refreshments for the kids while maintaining our high standards of hygiene and health and safety.

• Set up and pack away play spaces, moving furniture and play equipment as needed.

• Follow all Health and Safety protocols and policies and keep all relevant documentation, including accident and incident forms, up to date and completed as needed.

• Ensure proper sign-in and sign-out processes and procedures are followed for all children in our care.

• Communicate professionally and authentically with team members, parents, children, and schools.

• Conduct regular maintenance and safety checks for all equipment and kit.

• Take the lead in championing health and safety, providing first aid where necessary.

• Keep all information and documents related to the children in our care confidential and secure.

• Inspire our team members and the children in our care to have fun, be active, and lead an active lifestyle.

• We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in our care and so all our team members require an enhanced DBS check. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020

 

**Required:** - Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) - Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues - Reliable, responsible, and organised approach to work with meticulous attention to detail - Genuine passion for childcare and playwork, with a positive, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude - Ability to create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where children can thrive

  • Sound understanding of health and safety principles and safeguarding requirements - Ability to manage groups of children and promote positive behaviour - Energy, creativity, and flexibility in approach to problem-solving **Desirable:**
  • Previous experience working with children in a childcare, playwork, activity leader, or similar role - First Aid certification or willingness to undertake training - Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities - Experience in modelling positive behaviour and supporting children's emotional wellbeing - Familiarity with holiday club or summer camp environments
