A well-established coastal hotel and restaurant in a highly sought-after seaside location is looking to strengthen its kitchen team with a talented Sous Chef. The Role
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef in overseeing the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping lead the brigade while maintaining consistency, quality, and efficiency across all services.You will play a key role in supporting junior chefs, maintaining standards, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods. This is a hands-on role suited to a strong Senior Chef de Partie or existing Sous Chef looking for a stable, professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Supervising and supporting junior chefs during prep and service.
Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Assisting with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste.
Ensuring food hygiene and health & safety procedures are consistently followed.
Helping manage kitchen organisation and service flow during busy periods.
Assisting with menu development and seasonal dish preparation.
Leading sections and services confidently when required.
Key Requirements
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up.
Experience working with fresh, seasonal ingredients within a quality kitchen.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to lead by example within a busy brigade.
Calm and professional approach under pressure.
Passion for quality food and consistent standards.
Good understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance procedures.
What’s On Offer
Salary of £35,000 per annum.
