Job Description - Housing & Support Officer

? Housing & Support Officer - £28,000-£30,000 | Full-Time | Birmingham (Outskirts)

Are you passionate about providing high-quality housing services and supporting older people to live independently? We are working on behalf of a respected Birmingham-based charity to recruit a Housing & Support Officer for a permanent, full-time position. This rewarding role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while developing your career within a supportive and values-driven environment.

?? Location: Various schemes across the outskirts of Birmingham
?? Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
?? Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
?? Requirements: Clean driving licence and access to own vehicle
??? Compliance: Enhanced DBS required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day housing operations including tenancy sign-ups, terminations, and tenancy sustainment

  • Respond promptly to rent arrears and maintain accurate records

  • Collaborate with support staff to help residents sustain their tenancies

  • Prepare legal notices and documentation in line with procedures

  • Manage occupancy levels, oversee voids, and coordinate refurbishments

  • Liaise with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant maintenance

  • Support Asset colleagues with administration, documentation, and reporting

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across all schemes

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience in housing management or property maintenance (charity/social housing sector preferred)

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and service improvement

  • Confidence dealing with tenancy-related issues and legal documentation

  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
