Job Description - Housing Enabler

3 months contract with a local authority

Rate: £250 per day umbrella

7.4 hours per week working only

Summary

This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority, offering a rate of £250 per hour under an umbrella arrangement. The position focuses on supporting housing growth and affordable housing objectives within the district. The successful candidate will collaborate with planning colleagues, developers, Registered Providers, and other stakeholders to provide specialist housing input on planning matters. The role involves facilitating housing development opportunities and ensuring that new housing provisions align with local needs.

Responsibilities

Provide expert housing advice and input on planning pre-application enquiries and planning applications.

Collaborate with planning colleagues to integrate housing considerations into development proposals effectively.

Serve as a liaison between the Council, developers, Registered Providers, planning agents, and other housing stakeholders.

Facilitate and support the delivery of housing developments across the district.

Promote affordable housing and housing-led regeneration projects.

Work with Registered Providers to develop and review Local Lettings Plans.

Offer guidance on housing needs, affordable housing delivery, and housing policy requirements.

Requirements

Experience in Housing, Strategic Housing, Housing Development, Affordable Housing, Planning, or a related Local Authority environment.

Familiarity with planning applications and development proposals.

Knowledge of affordable housing delivery and housing development processes.

Educated to degree level or possess equivalent relevant experience.

Demonstrable experience in Housing, Planning, Development, or Regeneration.

Additional Information

Working hours are 7.4 hours per week, with a preference for working on Wednesdays.

The role is based onsite at Wyre Forest House, Finepoint Way, Kidderminster.

Payment is processed on a bi-weekly schedule.
