Job Description - Housing Litigation Solicitor (Tenancy matters)

Housing Litigation Solicitor

Location: Lancashire
Hours: Full-time (36+ hours) or part-time considered | Hybrid working (3-5 days in-office)

Salary: £35,000- £55,000 dependent on PQE

The Opportunity

A highly respected regional law firm with deep roots in the North West is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Housing Litigation Solicitor to join its growing social housing and regeneration team. The role is based in a modern office environment with the flexibility of hybrid working and the potential for part-time hours.

This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor who thrives in a client-focused, fast-paced legal setting while also valuing a healthy work-life balance, genuine team spirit, and long-term career development.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in handling a varied caseload of housing litigation matters, including:

  • Managing tenancy and leasehold disputes, with a particular focus on anti-social behaviour and housing management
  • Representing clients at County Court, Magistrates’ Court (civil jurisdiction), and First-tier Tribunal hearings
  • Providing practical, strategic advice on both litigated and pre-litigated matters
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and other court documents
  • Liaising with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and relevant third parties
  • Participating in business development activities including training sessions, legal briefings, and client support initiatives
  • Supporting senior team members in complex or high-value matters, and contributing to departmental goals
  • Supervising junior staff or paralegals as appropriate, with support and mentorship available
  • Helping to drive innovation, knowledge-sharing, and process improvement within the team

About You

We're looking for someone who shares the team’s values of authenticity, collaboration, and excellence. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor or CILEX equivalent (minimum 2 years’ PQE)
  • Solid experience in housing litigation, particularly in the social housing sector
  • Strong advocacy skills, with experience in representing clients at hearings
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines efficiently
  • Familiarity with relevant case management systems and IT tools
  • Confidence working independently and collaboratively
  • A supportive and proactive approach to supervising or mentoring others
  • A drive to succeed and develop within a forward-thinking, people-first law firm
  • Higher Rights of Audience (Civil) is a plus, but not essential

Why Join the company

This firm is widely recognised for its inclusive, supportive culture, where team members are genuinely encouraged to grow and succeed. Career progression is clearly mapped and fully supported through mentoring, training, and structured development frameworks.

You’ll join a workplace where people are valued for who they are, not just the work they do. Ideas are listened to, and success is celebrated—whether that’s a great result for a client, or a step forward in your professional journey.

Benefits Include:

  • 33 days’ annual leave including bank holidays (increasing with service)
  • Option to purchase additional leave
  • Enhanced parental and sick pay policies
  • Health cash plans and mental health support
  • Private health cover (for solicitor-level roles)
  • Profit share scheme
  • Hybrid working and part-time hours considered
  • Ongoing training, CPD, and clear career progression pathways
  • Staff discounts, long-service awards, and regular social events
