We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established housing association committed to providing high-quality, customer-focused housing management services across Cambridgeshire.
This is a varied, customer-facing role where you will take ownership of a broad range of tenancy matters, including tenancy management, rent and income collection, anti-social behaviour and resident support. You will be expected to maintain a visible presence within the local community and work closely with residents to resolve issues effectively.
Key Responsibilities of a Housing Officer: Manage a designated housing patch of properties. Deliver a comprehensive and proactive generic housing management service. Manage tenancy matters from initial enquiry through to resolution. Monitor and manage rent arrears and income collection. Investigate and manage anti-social behaviour cases. Visit residents in their homes and provide appropriate support and advice. Maintain a visible presence across the local community. Identify tenancy breaches and take appropriate action in line with policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies where required. Maintain accurate records and complete all associated housing management administration. Manage a varied caseload effectively, prioritising urgent and complex matters. Build positive relationships with residents and promote sustainable tenancies. Attend meetings, inspections and other appointments across the Cambridgeshire area.About You:
Previous experience working as a Housing Officer within a housing association. Strong knowledge and practical experience of generic housing management. Experience managing rent arrears and income collection. Experience handling anti-social behaviour cases. Good knowledge of tenancy management and relevant housing legislation. Experience managing a substantial housing patch and a varied caseload. Excellent communication and customer service skills. The confidence to deal with challenging situations and difficult conversations. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. A proactive, solutions-focused approach to housing management. The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team. The ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Cambridgeshire.Working ArrangementsThe role offers a degree of hybrid working, with some desk-based duties able to be completed remotely. However, due to the customer-facing nature of the position, you will be expected to work within the local patch and/or office for approximately three to four days per week, depending on operational requirements.
