Housing Officer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Officer to join a well-established housing provider, supporting residents across the Exeter area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, building strong communities and making a positive impact within social housing.

As the primary point of contact for residents within your designated neighbourhood patch, you will be responsible for managing tenancy-related matters, supporting community engagement initiatives and ensuring neighbourhoods remain safe, welcoming and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of tenancies, providing guidance and support to residents.
Respond to tenancy enquiries, permissions requests and housing-related queries.
Conduct tenancy sign-ups, viewings and tenancy visits.
Investigate and manage tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour and safeguarding concerns.
Monitor estate standards and work with contractors and internal teams to maintain high-quality living environments.
Build strong relationships with residents, stakeholders and partner agencies.
Deliver resident engagement activities and support community development initiatives.
Ensure compliance with tenancy agreements and housing policies.
Maintain accurate records and case management information.

About You

To be considered, you will have:

Previous experience within social housing, housing management, tenancy management or estate management.
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
Confidence dealing with a range of tenancy and resident-related issues.
A proactive and solution-focused approach.
CIH Level 4 qualification or willingness to work towards this.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

This role will also require an Enhanced DBS prior to employment.
