Job Description - Housing Support Officer

Housing Support Officer

Salary £25,000
Monday to Friday

We’re proud to be recruiting on behalf of a respected East Anglia-based organisation that offers tailored housing and support services through supported housing and affordable accommodation solutions. We are searching for a Housing Support Officer to join a small, but supportive and friendly team on a permanent basis. Ideal candidates will have strong housing experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Due to the location of this role, a driver’s license and access to your own transport will be essential.

Main duties and responsibilities:
  • Meet personal goals and deliver KPIs and service outcomes.
  • Conduct and document support sessions, ensuring tenancy compliance and community engagement.
  • Lead on sign-ups, visits, and tenancy management, addressing issues promptly.
  • Carry out property checks, report repairs, and support quick re-lets to minimise voids.
  • Promote rent payment, manage ASB cases, and handle legal proceedings when needed.
  • Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding standards are upheld.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders and manage expectations.
  • Produce high-quality reports and support colleagues across the business.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and undertake other duties as required.

Key Skills:
  • Strong background in housing management and support within social housing.
  • Proven success working with individuals facing complex challenges.
  • Previous void management experience
  • Skilled in delivering person-centred, holistic support.
  • Highly organised, emotionally intelligent, and able to manage workload independently or in a team.
  • Effective communicator with a broad stakeholder network and strategic awareness.
  • Deep understanding of EDI, professional boundaries, and safeguarding.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn internal systems.
  • Full UK driving licence, Enhanced DBS clearance, and committed to ongoing development.
