Team Lead – Housing & Communities

My Glasgow based client is seeking a permanent Team Lead to oversee a team delivering high‑quality housing and tenancy‑sustainment support. This role suits someone with housing or property management experience, excellent people skills and a commitment to supporting individuals to maintain safe, secure homes.

About the Role

As a Team Lead, you will manage a team of Tenant Liaison Workers and ensure the programme meets agreed service levels, outcomes and compliance standards. You’ll oversee referrals, allocations, void management, tenancy sustainment and risk management, while building strong relationships with landlords, local authorities and partner agencies.

You will also contribute to programme planning, performance reporting and continuous improvement, ensuring the service operates safely, efficiently and in line with organisational values.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and support a team delivering tenancy sustainment and housing support.

* Manage referrals, allocations and occupancy levels.

* Build positive relationships with landlords, agents, local authorities and partner services.

* Ensure high‑quality case management, documentation and risk assessments.

* Support property access arrangements for compliance, repairs and inspections.

* Investigate and resolve complaints or issues raised by tenants or external parties.

* Deliver KPIs, reporting and local authority returns.

* Work with Finance to prevent Housing Benefit debt and rent arrears.

* Recruit, induct, supervise and develop staff, including performance and absence management.

* Participate in the on‑call rota and ensure safe lone‑working practices.

* Promote trauma‑informed, person‑centred practice across the team.

Essential Requirements

* Demonstrable housing/property management experience.

* Understanding of housing law, social housing policy and welfare benefits.

* Experience supporting people with housing or community needs.

* Strong communication skills, including report writing.

* Ability to analyse and report on KPIs and work towards performance targets.

* Experience managing staff performance, sickness and resourcing.

* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
