Job Description - HR Administrator

Role: HR Administrator
Location: Brighton or Haywards Heath (with regular travel to Horsham, Worthing, Eastbourne, and Bexhill-on-Sea)
Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Pay: £24,000 - 25,000 per annum

The Requirements:

  • Genuine interest in building a career in HR
  • Educated to degree level or with relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of employment law and HR processes
  • High level of attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Comfortable handling confidential information
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Strong multitasking and communication abilities
  • Confident working independently and using initiative
  • Flexible with travel between sites and accepting of no remote work
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs A*-C (or equivalent), including Maths and English
  • CIPD Foundation Certificate or willingness to study post-probation
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced environment

The Role:

  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative support across the full employee lifecycle
  • Issue contracts and amendments
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Track probation periods and appraisals
  • Maintain the HR inbox and respond to or redirect queries
  • Keep HR systems and employee records up to date and compliant with data protection regulations
  • Send reminders for outstanding documentation such as contracts, forms, and letters
  • Support a range of HR activities including apprenticeships, family leave, references, checklists, filing, archiving, and wellbeing initiatives such as annual flu jabs and staff surveys

This is a group-level role requiring flexibility across multiple sites. During the initial training period and when covering absences, you will be based wherever the team is working. Remote working is not available in this position.
