Job Description - HR Administrator

Are you an organised, proactive HR professional seeking a temporary role that offers variety and the chance to support a busy HR team? This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience supporting employee lifecycle processes and maintaining HR records within a dynamic environment. The role involves core payroll support responsibilities, so your experience working with payroll systems will be highly valued.

Please note, this is a temporary position paid on a weekly PAYE basis and will require an immediate start, notice periods cannot be accommodated.

Temporary HR Administrator Responsibilities

This position will involve, but will be limited to:

Acting as a first point of contact for HR queries, providing guidance and referring complex issues to the HR team
Supporting recruitment and onboarding activities, ensuring documentation and processes are completed promptly
Managing administration related to employees’ lifecycle including starters, changes, and leavers
Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records, including absence and leave data
Assisting with monthly payroll processes, ensuring that employee changes, new starters, leavers, and relevant updates are processed accurately and on time
Following policies, procedures, and deadlines to ensure compliance and accuracy
Monitoring key dates and actions, producing reports, and assisting with HR system improvements
Temporary HR Administrator Rewards

Between £14.98 and £18.30 per hour, plus holiday pay, paid via the Allen Associates weekly PAYE payroll
36.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, usually starting at 9am
Initial assignment of approximately 3–4 months, with potential for extension for the right candidate
Experience supporting HR and payroll processes within a professional environment

The Company

Our client is an organisation overseeing the management of a large property portfolio including around 450 buildings and related infrastructure within Oxfordshire. They operate with a professional approach and encourage a collaborative working environment.

Temporary HR Administrator Experience Essentials

Proven experience in HR administration or a similar role
Strong organisational skills to meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel, and familiar with HR systems such as PeopleXD or other databases
Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and payroll support processes
Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and within a team, with good judgement in escalating queries
Location

Based in Central Oxford, there is no parking on site.
