Job Description - HR Advisor

Are you a confident HR Advisor ready to hit the ground running, support the full HR function, and tackle ER cases head-on? If so, this varied role with a nationwide company could be your perfect next move.

HR Advisor Responsibilities:

  • Oversee ER cases from start to finish, handling disciplinary and grievances across the company
  • Lead disciplinary and grievance investigations, which include advising managers, chairing meetings, taking minutes, and making final decisions
  • Assist with recruitment, which involves liaising with Managers, creating job descriptions, placing job adverts, shortlisting responses and interviewing candidates
  • Take ownership of the induction process, successfully onboarding new starters and ensuring all new starter documentation is completed
  • Support with redundancies
  • Create new policies and procedures and update existing policies in line with legislation
  • Manage the HR inbox, swiftly and accurately responding to incoming queries from employees
  • Collaborate with recruitment agencies and the warehouse team to arrange agency appointments
  • Work closely with the payroll team, informing them of new starters, leavers, and absences
  • Maintain the HR system, ensuring all data and personnel files are accurate and up-to-date
  • Gather data to create reports using Excel spreadsheets

HR Advisor Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record in a HR Generalist role, already operating at Advisor level and capable of hitting the ground running
  • Experience handling ER cases from start to finish and confident in making decisions
  • Knowledge of HR legislation and keeps up to date with employment law news and updates
  • Pro-active in your approach to work, with a can-do attitude and happy to take on responsibility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence and build rapport
  • Strong IT skills, with particular knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Possesses a full driving licence and can travel UK wide
