Our client is looking for an experienced Employment Specialist
As a Connect to Work Employment Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who face significant barriers to employment, including those with mental health conditions, disabilities, and other additional needs. Working within a person-centred and strengths-based framework, you will empower clients to build confidence, develop skills, and access meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities.
You will work collaboratively with local employers, health professionals, training providers, and community organisations to create inclusive pathways into work.
Your role will involve providing tailored advice, coaching, and advocacy to help individuals overcome challenges, navigate the job market, and thrive in the workplace.
This role is central to promoting social inclusion, reducing inequalities, and improving wellbeing through employment.

Understanding the support needs of individuals with serious mental health conditions, individuals with disabilities, Veterans, individuals who are victims of abuse, non-paid carers and individuals who are economically active or underrepresented in society.
Thorough and up to date knowledge of employment & benefits and welfare reform in Wales.
Knowledge of working with individuals with extensive physical, emotional or mental barriers to employment.
Knowledge of supported employment methodology and fidelity.
Knowledge of GDPR and confidentiality in a service setting
Extensive experience of providing intensive employment focussed mentoring to a caseload of participants with additional barriers and needs.
Experience of exposure to client groups. These client groups may include those with criminal records, protected characteristics, mental health groups, specific disabilities etc.
Understanding of performance management and monitoring processes.
A track record of achieving targets in an employability setting.
Experience in dealing with hard-to-reach customer groups, confident in approaching difficult subjects or conversations.
