Salary – £27,000 - £28,000 depending on experience
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR and Payroll Coordinator to join a well-established organisation operating within a regulated and safeguarding-focused environment.
This role will support the day-to-day delivery of HR and payroll services, working closely with senior leadership to ensure a professional, responsive and efficient people function. The successful candidate will have a strong background in HR administration, recruitment, payroll support and HR systems, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
* Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, from advertising vacancies through to interview arrangements.
* Support candidate communications and deliver a positive recruitment experience.
* Manage onboarding processes, including employment checks, contracts and induction arrangements.
* Ensure compliance with safer recruitment and safeguarding requirements.
HR Administration
* Process employee lifecycle changes, including starters, leavers and contract amendments.
* Prepare contracts, letters and employment-related documentation.
* Serve as a first point of contact for HR queries, escalating matters where appropriate.
* Support absence management administration and routine employee relations casework.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
HR Systems & Reporting
* Support the administration and maintenance of HR and payroll systems.
* Provide guidance to system users and assist with troubleshooting.
* Produce workforce reports and management information.
* Contribute to training materials, user guides and process documentation.
* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee data.
Payroll Support
* Assist with monthly payroll processing; this will not be the full process, but more likely adding new starter information, or updating payroll if any additions or deductions need to be made.
* Validate payroll information against contracts and authorised documentation.
* Ensure employee changes are processed accurately and within required timescales.
* Support the preparation and submission of payroll-related data.
Compliance & General Duties
* Support HR projects, policy updates and people initiatives.
* Work in accordance with employment legislation and HR best practice.
* Maintain awareness of changes in employment law and sector requirements.
* Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.
* Support safeguarding, health and safety, equality and compliance obligations.
About You
* Ideally a minimum 2-3 years' experience in an HR environment.
* CIPD Level 3 qualification, with progression towards CIPD Level 5.
* Experience using integrated HR and payroll systems.
* Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
* Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Professional communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
