Job Description - HR Assistant

Meraki Talent is partnering with a boutique Accountancy firm based in Surrey, looking for a HR Assistant. You will have previous experience working in an Accountancy environment, looking to develop and grow within an established HR team.

HR Responsibilities:
  • Handle day-to-day HR queries from staff and line managers, escalating as necessary.
  • Support onboarding and induction of new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the firm.
  • Maintain and update employee records, both digital and paper-based, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Help organise internal events and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Support performance review cycles, training coordination, and CPD tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and firm policies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices.
  • Support the team employee relations matters such as disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Person Specification
  • Previous experience in an HR support role within an accountancy firm or professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with HR processes, employment legislation, and best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS
  • High levels of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • CIPD Level 3 (or working towards)
  • Experience with HR systems
  • Knowledge of the SRA or ICAEW regulatory requirements (desirable)
