Zest Education is working in partnership with a high-performing secondary school in North West London to recruit an HR Assistant to join their central administrative team. This is a full-time position starting on Monday, June 30th, 2025.
The Role:This is a fantastic opportunity for a HR professional or a highly competent administrator with HR exposure to take on a broad, generalist role within a busy school environment. You will be supporting the HR department with day-to-day operations, ensuring an efficient and responsive HR service across the school.
You will play a key role in staff recruitment, maintaining accurate records, supporting staff absence processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and school policies.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee and support daily HR operations in line with school policies
Manage and maintain up-to-date employee records and HR databases
Assist with end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising roles, arranging interviews, and onboarding
Monitor and log staff absences and support the School Workforce Census process
Provide first-line support for HR queries from staff
Ensure right to work documentation and UKBA compliance is fully up to date
Support the wider admin team with general duties as required
Maintain a professional and proactive approach, promoting a positive and supportive environment
We are looking for a confident, efficient and proactive individual who is able to work autonomously and as part of a team. You must be able to manage a busy workload with a high level of accuracy and discretion.
You will need:
Strong administrative experience, ideally within an HR or education setting
Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks under pressure
Professionalism, discretion, and strong interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of HR processes and relevant compliance would be highly beneficial
Experience handling confidential data in line with GDPR and safeguarding requirements

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
