HR Assistant Job Overview

A well-established manufacturing business is seeking an HR Assistant to support its busy HR and Payroll function based in South Wales (commutable from Cardiff, Newport, and surrounding areas). This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for HR administration and employee relations to develop within a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support to the HR Manager, Training Manager, and Payroll team
• Monitor and report on employee absence
• Support the onboarding process for new starters
• Ensure payroll changes and amendments are accurately processed
• Track probationary periods and issue relevant documentation
• Add new starters to the HR system (HRIS)
• Draft offer letters, contracts, and general HR correspondence
• Minute meetings including disciplinaries, grievances, and welfare reviews
• Co-ordinate HR meetings and manage diaries
• Maintain and update employee records

HR Assistant Job Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Strong IT skills
• High attention to detail
• Collaborative team player
• Experience in a HR Assistant or similar role would be beneficial
• CIPD Level 3 or working towards is desirable but not essential

HR Assistant Salary & Benefits

• £24,500 per annum
• Full-Time, Permanent
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm (flexibility required for occasional early starts/late finishes)
• 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
