Job Description - HR Assistant in a PR Agency

This is a fast-paced, varied role supporting the HR Director and HR Managers across recruitment, on-boarding, payroll, HR operations and employee engagement. You’ll act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries, so a high level of discretion, maturity and initiative is essential.

Hours: 08:45-17:45 (Hybrid, 3/2)

Salary: Up to £37,000 p/a

Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews, liaising with recruitment agencies and internal stakeholders

  • Maintain CV and interview logs, gather feedback, and manage Recruitment Status Forms (RSFs)

  • Administer the trainee scheme and intern recruitment processes

Onboarding & Induction
  • Develop and manage comprehensive on boarding schedules, including buddy assignments

  • Oversee all pre-employment checks (right to work, references, DBS, etc.)

  • Conduct new joiner check-ins and manage leaver administration

Payroll & HR Systems
  • Collate and submit monthly payroll changes in collaboration with Finance

  • Maintain accurate HRIS data (Hibob), including holiday approval and benefit tracking

  • Respond to payroll and holiday queries in a timely manner

HR Administration
  • Draft contracts, offer letters and other employee documentation

  • Maintain accurate employee records and support the probation and sick leave processes

  • Prepare regular HR reports and business updates

Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Support the organisation of events, internal recognition schemes (e.g., High Fives), and employee surveys

  • Help organise HR-related social events, leaver speeches, and other cultural touch points

The ideal candidate will:

  • Previous experience in HR administration

  • CIPD Level 3 qualified or working toward it (desirable)

  • Familiarity with UK employment law and HR best practices

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively across teams
