Job Description - HR Business Partner

A fast-growing, independent consultancy firm that plans to double its headcount over the next 12-months is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to steer the people agenda through this exciting scale-up phase.

What you’ll be doing as HR Business Partner:
This is a broad, standalone HR position at the centre of the company’s growth. You will oversee the full employee lifecycle and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. In parallel, the company will support the design and implementation of the new reward, benefits and engagement initiatives to ensure the culture remains agile and performance driven as numbers grow.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day HR operations: recruitment, onboarding, employee-relations casework, performance management, learning & development and exit processes
  • Lead the creation and roll-out of scalable benefits, recognition and reward programmes
  • Coordinate monthly payroll and resolve first-line payroll queries in partnership with Finance
  • Develop and maintain policies, handbooks and compliance processes that combine rigour with flexibility
  • Support managers through organisational change, growth challenges and ER issues


We’re looking for a HR Business Partner with:
  • Previous standalone or small-team HR experience within a growing SME
  • Confident across the full HR generalist toolkit, including some payroll responsibility
  • Agile, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-changing environment with shifting priorities
  • Able to operate autonomously, take ownership and influence senior stakeholders


Desirable extras
  • Experience in consultancy, professional services or technology sectors
  • Track record of implementing an HRIS or benefits platform
  • Project work in reward, compensation or benefits design
