Join us as the HR Director for Belmond's Global Headquarters, where you'll play a pivotal role in our HR leadership team, reporting directly to the SVP of Human Resources. Partnering closely with the Global Office leadership, you'll spearhead the adaptation and implementation of global HR strategies tailored to local needs. In this key role, you will oversee comprehensive HR management for our Global Headquarters, encompassing talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and legal compliance. Your purpose: to drive HR operational excellence and cultivate a workplace culture that is not only supportive but also sets the stage for exceptional performance.
Primary Responsibilities
Talent Development
- Advise the global office leadership team on people-related matters and oversee performance management systems, ensuring effective use of performance and talent development tools.
- Conduct regular organization and succession plan reviews, including the annual Organisational Management Review (OMR) and career meetings for Director and above roles.
- Assess development needs and monitor development programs.
- Implement and support global learning and development initiatives, ensuring the Global HQ's learning needs are met.
Employee Engagement
- Activate the Employer Value Proposition (EVP) throughout the employee lifecycle by enhancing existing programs and developing new initiatives, aligning with global HR objectives.
- Drive employee engagement by prioritizing key actions from listening initiatives.
- Develop and manage work-life balance initiatives, including flexible working and stress management.
- Create a vibrant office culture to boost morale and engagement, in collaboration with the Office Manager.
Employee Relations
- Manage employee relations processes (disciplinaries, grievances, re-structures, redundancy, performance, terminations) with the Legal team.
- Coach managers to foster positive working relationships and manage conflict.
- Oversee the development and communication of HR policies, ensuring compliance with employment laws and global policies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation to identify risks and ensure compliance
Payroll, Compensation and Benefits
- Implement Compensation and Benefits programs, including incentives and employee benefits.
- Conduct the annual bonus and pay review, per global guidelines.
- Advise managers on performance, capability, and sickness/absence management.
- Manage statutory and contractual leave (holiday, sickness, maternity, paternity, parental, adoption).
- Collaborate with the HQ Financial Controller for accurate payroll forecasting and planning.
- Review and approve payroll for the Global Office.
Talent Planning and Acquisition
- Collaborate with departmental managers to understand workforce needs and required skills.
- Lead and coach the HR Manager in sourcing, selecting, and hiring employees below the Director level; support sourcing for other roles.
- Interview all candidates for Director roles.
Facilities/Office Management
- Lead and coach the Office Manager to ensure smooth office operations in London.
- Maintain Health and Safety requirements with the Head of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment.
- Manage third-party suppliers.
- Ensure well-appointed work, meeting, and rest facilities.
- Maintain a welcoming and efficient reception area.
Financial Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the SVP Global HR, be responsible in the preparation and management of the Global HR and Facilities budget, monitoring costs and expenditures.
- Responsible for guiding Managers to prepare annual Payroll budgets.
People Management
- Manage, coach, motivate, and develop direct reports to achieve their potential and contribute to business objectives.
- Ensure annual performance reviews are conducted and development plans are in place for key talent.
- Delegate responsibilities within the team to meet objectives.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in HR leadership, including employee relations, performance management, and policy compliance.
- Strong background in compensation and benefits administration, including conducting annual reviews
- Demonstrated ability to coach and lead managers, fostering positive working relationships and managing conflict.
- Experience in talent management, including workforce planning, succession planning, and conducting interviews for senior roles.
- Expertise in office management, including overseeing Health and Safety requirements, managing third-party suppliers, and facilities management
