HR Generalist

HR Generalist – Permanent – Birkenhead - £35,000-£45,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Generalist / HR Manager to join a growing engineering business and take ownership of its in-house HR function.

This is a hands-on, varied role offering the opportunity to build and develop HR processes, policies and procedures from the ground up, while working closely with senior management and employees.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures and documentation.

* Provide day-to-day HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle.

* Manage recruitment, onboarding, probation and exit processes.

* Support managers with absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance matters.

* Maintain accurate HR records, reporting and compliance.

* Coordinate training, development and employee engagement initiatives.

* Support the company's Sponsorship Licence and Home Office requirements.

* Work alongside external HR and employment law specialists.

* Identify and implement improvements to HR systems and processes.

About You

* CIPD Level 5 qualified.

* Previous experience in a HR Generalist, HR Advisor, HR Officer or HR Manager position.

* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.

* Confident handling employee relations and advising managers.

* Highly organised, approachable and commercially aware.

* Comfortable working independently and building processes from scratch.
