The Role
As HR Manager, you will take strategic and operational leadership of people-related functions across the organisation – from recruitment and training to employee wellbeing, policy, and inclusion. You’ll manage a small, experienced team and play a key role on the Senior Leadership Team, helping to shape organisational strategy and culture. Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop workforce strategy across recruitment, retention, training, wellbeing, and employee relations
Manage a team comprising the Workforce Development Lead and Head of Training & Mission
Oversee HR systems, policy compliance, safer recruitment, and onboarding processes
Champion and implement inclusive wellbeing initiatives and co-produced staff development strategies
Support managers through performance, conduct, and conflict issues, in partnership with an HR provider
Develop and maintain workforce data dashboards and insights for senior reporting
Contribute to broader organisational leadership and culture as part of the Senior Leadership Team
Desirable Skills & Experience
Significant experience in senior HR or workforce development roles
CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent professional expertise
Strong understanding of employment law and best-practice people management
Experience in values-led or person-centred organisations (e.g., charity, care, education, social enterprise)
Confidence in leading and coaching managers through complex HR issues
Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills
Commitment to equity, diversity, and co-production in the workplace
