The Company

We’re partnering with a well-established, forward-thinking charity based in Kent. Known for their inclusive culture and commitment to co-production, the organisation has a long-standing reputation for delivering impactful services that prioritise voice, choice, and independence to people with learning difficulties.

The Role

As HR Manager, you will take strategic and operational leadership of people-related functions across the organisation – from recruitment and training to employee wellbeing, policy, and inclusion. You’ll manage a small, experienced team and play a key role on the Senior Leadership Team, helping to shape organisational strategy and culture. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior HR professional who thrives in a values-led environment and is passionate about inclusive, person-centred leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop workforce strategy across recruitment, retention, training, wellbeing, and employee relations
  • Manage a team comprising the Workforce Development Lead and Head of Training & Mission
  • Oversee HR systems, policy compliance, safer recruitment, and onboarding processes
  • Champion and implement inclusive wellbeing initiatives and co-produced staff development strategies
  • Support managers through performance, conduct, and conflict issues, in partnership with an HR provider
  • Develop and maintain workforce data dashboards and insights for senior reporting
  • Contribute to broader organisational leadership and culture as part of the Senior Leadership Team
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Significant experience in senior HR or workforce development roles
  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent professional expertise
  • Strong understanding of employment law and best-practice people management
  • Experience in values-led or person-centred organisations (e.g., charity, care, education, social enterprise)
  • Confidence in leading and coaching managers through complex HR issues
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and co-production in the workplace
Benefits
  • Salary of circa £50,000 per annum
  • 5% employer pension contribution (salary sacrifice scheme available)
  • 25 days annual leave + 8 public holidays
  • Hybrid working (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
  • Free parking, on-site café and green spaces
  • Supportive, inclusive culture and meaningful work that drives real social change
