Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a HR & Recruitment Officer located in Washington. The candidate will be responsible for the full recruitment cycle, deal with employee relation issues and support with day to day HR management and duties. The HR & Recruitment Officer will demonstrate a can-do attitude in all of the work that is delivered, ensuring the department requirements are achieved.
Responsibilities Be responsible for recruitment including identifying the most appropriate and fit for purpose route and collaborate with hiring managers to create job descriptions and adverts. Regularly review and update the recruitment processes and documents to ensure they are relevant, accurate and up to date Support with onboarding delivering new starter induction presentations face to face co-ordinate with internal departments to ensure the timely delivery of the Company’s new starter induction process. Issue offer letters and contracts to successful candidates Support all employee relations issues with the Production team. Update and review procedures, standard letters and forms to ensure compliance to new employment legislation. Proactively manage employee benefits. Manage and maintain time and attendance. Co-ordinate the Occupational Health provision within the Company. Review handbook periodically in line with policy and legislative changes. Assist with improving the efficiency of the department through streamlining processes. Actively participate in cost reduction activities. Support recruitment activities at all levels Produce department statistics as required.
Skills, Education & Experience Experience of handling discipline and grievance procedures from beginning to end. Experience of reporting and monitoring to tight deadlines. At least 3 years’ experience in a busy HR team. At least 3 years’ Experience with recruitment processes and practices Detailed knowledge and experience of HR legislation. Understanding of the pressure of working within a manufacturing environment Be able to efficiently communicate at all levels within the organisation. Self-motivated and pro-active. Excellent organisation skills. Responds positively to change and is active in implementing new ideas. Professional qualification - CIPD or equivalent
Desirable Experience Experience of working in a manufacturing environment Experience of working with HR systems e.g. Civica/Carval Participation in Better Health at Work Award. Experiencing of working within a unionised environment.
