We are currently recruiting a HSE Manager for our client in Leyland.
Essential educational qualifications, relevant experience and requested skills.
Degree in Engineering Science or HSE&S degree.
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent recognised qualification).
Sound knowledge of personal (occupational) safety and security systems and the legislative framework as well as proven track record of driving change in a global environment.
Proven experience in a Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability (HSES) role within a manufacturing, industrial or operational site environment.
Strong working knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation, with the ability to apply it pragmatically at site level.
Demonstrable experience managing:

* Manual handling risks and ergonomic assessments
* COSHH assessments, including exposure control, safe use, storage and labelling of hazardous substances
* PUWER compliance for work equipment and machinery
* DSEAR risk assessments where flammable or combustible materials are present
Experience supporting environmental compliance, including waste management, segregation, contractor control and pollution prevention.
Competence in conducting risk assessments, developing safe systems of work, and maintaining site HSES procedures.
Experience investigating incidents, accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Confident communicator with the ability to engage, influence and challenge operational teams and site leadership.
Practical, hands-on approach with a visible presence on site and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Proficient in developing and implementing programs and policies at entities where none previously existed. Must be successful in creating and promoting a collaborative team-oriented environment.
Proficient in BBS program design, implementation and training. Accreditation/certification on Security matters is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, entrepreneurship, result oriented, negotiation, problem solving, project management, confident, enthusiastic;
Solid interpersonal and verbal/written English language skills with the ability to build trust with staff and employees at all levels of the organization Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
