Job Description - HSEQ Advisor

Our client, an international oil service organisation, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join their Aberdeen team on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will support the management and maintenance of health & safety, environmental and quality management systems, ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant standards (ISO 9001,45001 and ISO 14001), onsite, at client/supplier sites.
Applicants should have a NEBOOSH NGC or equivalent, internal auditing certificate and a strong knowledge knowledge of ISO QMS, Occupational Health or Environmental standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include:
HSEQ Management Systems
Ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety Policy & Procedures, Safe Working Practices and Statutory Regulations.
Support achievement of agreed HSEQ plans and objectives.
Monitor and evaluate compliance with statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, environment.

Ensure updates are evaluated and communicated.
Escalate appropriately non-compliance with legislation and regulation and support process to compliance.

Coordinate and attend HSEQ certification audits and support the process of closing any non-conformances for the region.
Support HSEQ Internal and sub-contractor audits and support the process of closing any non-conformances.
Support the development, and integration of the HSEQ management system, including updates and creation of procedures.
Evaluate external service providers with regards to HSEQ and support the supplier management approval process.
Support the maintenance of electronicNCR database for COMPANY, including:

Supporting registration and close-out of Internal & External Audit Issues, HSEQ Incidents and other relevant opportunities.
Supporting staff in its correct use.

Attend all inter-companyHSEQ meetings and completeHSEQ related reporting as scheduled:

HSEQ meetings (participate and organise as per schedule)
Support HSEQ inspections and safety visits / Gemba walks
Conduct internal HSEQ audits as per schedule.
Create and cascade HSEQ communication (for example safety alerts)
Collection and reporting of HSEQ KPI's in required formats.

Liaise with relevant bodies such as local authorities, public bodies and competent bodies as requested by HSEQ Manager North Sea & Norway
Provide HSEQ support to other COMPANY locations as requested.
Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
Manage arrangements for the reporting and collation of information on accidents, incidents and near misses.

Lead the follow-up of near-misses and HSE NCR's through to closure.
Lead internal investigation as requested. Support the process for ensuring that all recommended improvements are implemented.

Maintain business critical HSEQ activities, including, but not limited to risk assessments, safe working procedures, safety inspections and site 5S standards.
Cultivate an understanding and actively implement a culture of safety.
Maintain and develop effective working relationships with COMPANY employees and management:

To support the identification and mitigation of risks in the working environment.
To support the development of a positive HSEQ culture.

Follow-up routine checks to ensure drills and fire alarms are correctly reported.
Training:

Deliver health & safety and environmental awareness training as required.
Deliver new start and visitor HSEQ induction training.

Carry out DSE, COSHH and Manual Handling assessments.
Co-ordinate First Aiders & Fire Marshals and ensure roles and responsibilities are understood and executed.
Occupational health support if determined required:

Responsible for the maintenance of First Aid Kits, Defibrillator Units, and maintenance of Eye Wash Stations.
Responsible for the control of PPE.

Qualifications and Experience
Required
Health & Safety Qualification (NEBOSH General or equivalent).
Environmental Management Qualification (can be substituted for relevant experience).
Root Cause Analysis Certification/trained.
Internal auditing certificate for one of HSEQ management systems.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management ISO 45001 Occupational Health Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
Proven experience of formulating, implementing, and revising environmental, HSEQ policies procedures and processes
Proven experience in HSEQ Management System implementation and auditing.
Strong understanding of UK regulations and legislation relating to HSEQ and welfare at work.
COSHH Assessor Trained.
Strong numeracy, written and verbal communication skills and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss both planning and environmental issues.
Strong IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages and other similar platforms.
Excellent time management organisation and focus on ability to prioritise and multitask with clear ability to focus on detail.
Relevant experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Preferred

Familiarity with API Q1 and Q2 requirements.
NEBOSH Environmental Certificate (or prepared to undertake qualification).
Investigation Qualification (or prepared to undertake qualification).
Member of Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH).
