The DGNZ Correspondence Hub are a new centralised team who handle, start to end, all FOI and EIRs for 5 Directorates in DGNZ  (ARE, DECC, EnFor, Marine and Offshore Wind), one of the largest DG’s in the Scottish Government.

Based within the Correspondence Hub Team, our Hub Officer role offers the unique opportunity to engage in a cross cutting Operational Delivery role by delivering a high volume of FOI and EIR casework.

DGNZ Correspondence Hub, operate in a hybrid environment with officers based across Scotland from the Highlands to the Borders.  
 

This is a challenging role within a high performing team, that offers autonomy in how you manage your workload, with the opportunity to engage with stakeholders at all levels not only across DGNZ but also the wider Scottish Government, UK Government and Devolved Administrations. It also provides you the opportunity to gain insight and experience in exciting and high-profile policy areas. 

As one of 10 Hub Officers, you will play a pivotal role in providing advice and guidance on FOI and EIRs, and delivering casework across DGNZ Directorates (ARE, DECC, EnFor, Marine and Offshore Wind). 

You will be responsible for creating FOI and EIR responses and providing support to your Hub Case Manager, assisting in the coordination and assignment of FOI/EIR responses within the statutory time frames. The skills and experience you bring will help us to continue to deliver a first-class experience to our stakeholders.

  • Create responses to FOI and EIR requests. 
  • Provide support and advice to your Hub Managers.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of EIR and FOI legislation and best practice to enable delivery of high quality and robust responses to EIR and FOI cases within legal deadlines. 
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Data Protection, GDPR, Information Governance and Records Management. 
  • Build and maintain positive relationships, working collaboratively with colleagues across Scottish Government to produce factual and informed responses containing complex information in a clear and concise format to meet the needs of various audiences. 
  • Create ad hoc MiCase correspondence such as General Responses.
