Job Description - Humanities Teacher

Humanities Teacher
Location: Hounslow
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner by agreement)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role
A welcoming and high-performing secondary school in Hounslow is seeking a passionate and adaptable Humanities Teacher to join their teaching team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This role is open to specialists in any Humanities subject, including History, Geography, Religious Studies, Sociology, or Politics. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential KS5 depending on your subject), helping students to develop critical thinking, curiosity, and an understanding of the world around them.

Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ECT, the school is committed to supporting your professional development and ensuring you feel confident and equipped to succeed in your role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Plan and assess student learning in line with national curriculum expectations.

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and the continuous improvement of departmental resources.

  • Support students in developing analytical, research, and communication skills.

  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where all learners are supported and challenged.

  • Participate in school events, trips, and wider learning opportunities within the Humanities Teacher faculty.

Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a Humanities Teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Specialises in one or more Humanities subjects.

  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage students of all abilities.

  • Is confident managing a classroom and passionate about education.

  • Can work well as part of a collaborative department.

  • Is committed to ongoing professional development.
