Job Description - Humanities Teacher

Humanities Teacher

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

Salary: £120 - £250 per day (depending on experience and pay scale)

Start date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time

Are you a passionate and inspiring Humanities Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity within a supportive and ambitious secondary school?

GSL Education Kent are currently recruiting for a dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Sittingbourne from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Humanities Teacher or a confident ECT looking to make a positive impact within a welcoming and forward-thinking school community.

The successful Humanities Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons across the Humanities curriculum, helping students develop critical thinking skills, cultural awareness, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. The school is seeking a Humanities Teacher who can inspire curiosity, encourage academic achievement, and foster a love of learning.

The ideal Humanities Teacher will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge within one or more Humanities disciplines, such as History, Geography, or Religious Education
The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Strong communication and organisational abilities
A commitment to supporting student progress and achievement
