Humanities Teacher

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed full-time Humanities Teacher to join a highly successful, co-educational 11–16 state secondary school that has been rated Good by Ofsted. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Humanities Teacher to join a successful Humanities department in a full-time, permanent position, teaching Humanities across Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE.

The Role

* Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons across Key Stage 3 and GCSE (Key Stage 4).

* Teach a broad Humanities curriculum, which may include History, Geography and Religious Education, depending on your subject specialism.

* Inspire students to develop curiosity, critical thinking and a strong understanding of the world around them through Humanities.

* Prepare students for GCSE examinations, supporting them to achieve their full potential.

* Assess, monitor and report on student progress, using assessment to inform planning and targeted intervention.

* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students of all abilities, including those with SEND and high prior attainment.

* Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where high expectations are maintained.

* Contribute to curriculum development and the continued success of the Humanities department.

* Participate fully in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, school events and wider school life.

* Maintain high expectations of behaviour, attendance and achievement in line with school policies.

* Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the Humanities Teacher team continues to deliver high-quality learning experiences for students.

The Ideal Candidate

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

* Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level.

* Strong subject knowledge with the ability to teach GCSE within your Humanities specialism.

* A passion for inspiring young people to develop confidence and enjoyment in Humanities.

* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

* The ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.

* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
