HV ASSESSOR – B76 0EB – FULLTIME – BBV

A chance to work on one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK, spanning over the next 5–7 years (HS2).

Reliable Contractors are recruiting for an experienced HV Assessor to join the BBV HS2 project at B76 0EB.

Long-term work is available for the right candidate with the correct cards, tickets and experience, offering stable employment and regular income for the foreseeable future.

Assignment Details

Paid Holidays: 31 days per year (including bank holidays)

Start Date: As soon as possible following successful vetting checks, medical and on-site induction

Must Have

Valid JIB Gold Card.

*

18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

*

Relevant experience in high-voltage electrical works and assessment.

*

Good understanding of electrical safety procedures and safe systems of work.

*

Ability to assess electrical installations and work against relevant standards and specifications.

*

Strong communication and organisational skills.

*

Reliable and proactive attitude towards work.

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Role and Responsibilities

*

Carry out HV assessments and inspections in accordance with project requirements.

*

Assess electrical installations and associated works for compliance with relevant standards.

*

Review electrical documentation, test results and certification.

*

Identify defects, non-compliances and areas requiring remedial action.

*

Provide technical guidance and feedback to site teams and contractors.

*

Ensure electrical works are carried out in accordance with approved procedures.

*

Maintain accurate assessment records and reports.

*

Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with site health and safety requirements.

Shifts

Working days: Monday to Friday.

Start time: 7:00am–7:30am.

Finish time: 5:00pm–5:30pm.

Overtime

Monday to Friday: Time and a third after 10 hours.

Nights: Time and a third.

Saturdays and Sundays: Time and a half.

All night hours: Time and a half.

Electrical hazards: Follow electrical safety procedures and ensure appropriate isolation arrangements are in place.

High-voltage equipment: Maintain safe working distances and comply with authorised access procedures.

Live site operations: Coordinate with other operatives and follow site permit systems.

Working around plant and vehicles: Follow site traffic management procedures.

*

Slips, trips and falls: Maintain safe access routes and tidy working areas.

All site-specific risks and control measures must be confirmed through the project RAMS, risk assessments and site induction.
