HV Project Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HV Project Manager with a specialization in 11kV contestable projects to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high voltage electrical project management, with expertise in delivering contestable 11kV projects from inception to completion. This role will involve overseeing the planning, design, procurement, and construction of 11kV systems, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management:
   

   
   
   
   
   • Lead and manage 11kV contestable projects from pre-construction through to project completion.
     
   
   
   • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company objectives.
     
   
   
   • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as needed.
     
   
   
   • Ensure that all project activities comply with relevant health and safety, environmental, and quality standards.
     
   
   



2. Stakeholder Engagement:
   

   
   
   
   
   • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
     
   
   
   • Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, providing timely updates on progress, challenges, and changes.
     
   
   
   • Ensure that customer expectations are met through regular updates, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly.
     
   
   



3. Technical Expertise:
   

   
   
   
   
   • Provide technical leadership on all aspects of 11kV contestable works, including design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
     
   
   
   • Review and approve engineering designs and ensure they meet regulatory and operational requirements.
     
   
   
   • Ensure all work complies with industry standards such as BS7671, Electricity at Work Regulations, and other relevant codes of practice.
     
   
   



4. Procurement and Contract Management:
   

   
   
   
   
   • Oversee procurement processes, including tendering, contractor selection, and negotiation of contracts.
     
   
   
   • Manage and monitor subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budget.
     
   
   
   • Monitor contract performance and resolve any issues related to cost, time, or quality.

   • Ensure the project team adheres to strict health, safety, and environmental guidelines, minimizing risks and promoting a safety-first culture.
     
   
   
   • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits throughout the project lifecycle.
     
   
   
   • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical safety standards, regulations, and client specifications.

   • Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective delivery of projects.
     
   
   
   • Prepare financial forecasts and track project cost performance against budget.
     
   
   
   • Identify and mitigate any potential cost overruns and implement corrective actions.

   • Conduct final project reviews to ensure compliance and report any non-conformance for rectification.
