Your new company A growing mechanical and HVAC contractor based in Nottinghamshire is looking to strengthen its pre-construction team with the appointment of an HVAC Design & Estimator. Operating across a range of commercial and industrial projects, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality HVAC solutions and is experiencing continued growth across the Midlands region. Your new role As an HVAC Design & Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting projects from initial enquiry through to handover. You will be responsible for preparing competitive estimates, producing HVAC designs and technical proposals, and working closely with clients, suppliers, and project delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing detailed quotations, cost plans, and tender submissions. Designing HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and associated plant. Producing equipment schedules, technical specifications, and design calculations. Reviewing drawings, specifications, and client requirements. Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations. Conducting site surveys and attending client meetings where required. Identifying value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions. Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.What you'll need to succeed Previous experience within HVAC, mechanical building services, or M&E contracting.
Experience in estimating, design, or a combined design-and-build position. Strong understanding of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Good commercial awareness and attention to detail. Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. A full UK driving licence.Desirable experience includes AutoCAD, HVAC design software, and relevant engineering qualifications such as HNC/HND or Degree level education in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering. What you'll get in return Salary up to circa £50,000, depending on experience.
