A quick look at the role
We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused individual to join our Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) team. As a Site Assistant, you’ll help residents dispose of their waste safely and efficiently, while ensuring we maximise recycling rates and maintain a clean, compliant, and customer-friendly site.

Your core responsibilities

• Assist residents in the safe disposal and correct segregation of recyclable materials
• Provide guidance and education to users about recycling best practices
• Help ensure the site operates safely and remains clean, tidy, and compliant
• Maintain clear and accurate records for site operations and materials handled
• Monitor and report equipment defects or site issues in a timely manner
• Support contractors, visitors, and colleagues on-site as needed
• Oversee chargeable waste handling, ensuring proper paperwork and reconciliation
• Respond to and resolve customer queries or complaints in a professional manner
• Contribute to achieving site recycling targets and maintaining material quality
• Take part in audits, inspections, and emergency procedures when required
