We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Hydraulics Fitter to join an established engineering and production team in Cambridgeshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Hydraulics Fitter with a strong practical understanding of hydraulic systems, components and fluid power principles to play a key role in the assembly, installation, testing and maintenance of hydraulic equipment.

The ideal candidate will be practical, mechanically minded and take pride in producing high-quality work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble, fit and install hydraulic systems, components, pipework, tubing and hose assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings, work instructions and technical documentation.

Fit, connect and assemble hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, manifolds, filters and associated equipment.

Manufacture and install hydraulic hoses and pipework, ensuring correct routing, connections, support and identification.

Carry out pressure testing and commissioning of hydraulic systems, identifying and resolving leaks, faults and performance issues.

Diagnose hydraulic faults and undertake effective repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance activities.

Use appropriate hand tools, power tools and hydraulic testing equipment to complete assembly and maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.

Identify defects, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.

Skills & Experience

Proven practical experience working with hydraulic systems, components and fluid power principles.

Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Competent in hydraulic assembly, fitting, hose manufacture and pipework installation.

Experience fitting and connecting hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, motors and associated components.

Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools and appropriate hydraulic testing equipment.

Experience carrying out hydraulic pressure testing, system commissioning, fault-finding and troubleshooting.

Good understanding of hydraulic system maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance practices.

Knowledge of safe working practices, risk assessments and relevant engineering standards.

Ability to identify defects, diagnose faults and implement effective corrective solutions.

Demonstrable experience in a hydraulic fitting, assembly or maintenance role.

Additional hydraulic, fluid power or engineering-related training and accreditations would be advantageous.

Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
Annual leave: 22 days, plus 8 public holidays
