ID Bureau Officer

The Force Identification Bureau is the central point of contact for all identification procedures, providing specialist support and guidance to officers and staff.  The bureau ensures identification processes are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation, national guidance, force policy and best practice, maintaining the integrity and evidential standards of all identification procedures.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Format and compile Identification procedures in accordance with current guidelines and legislation.
• Act as a primary point of contact for police officers and staff, providing specialist advice and guidance on the technical and legal aspects of identification processes.
• Attend prison establishments using the departmental vehicle to carry out identification processes.  Liaising with prison staff to ensure the procedures are conducted securely and efficiently.
• Develop and maintain proficiency in the Identification software, PROMAPS
• Utilise Adobe Photoshop to produce and edit images for complex Identification procedures, ensuring all image preparation is accurate.

Vetting: Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.

Medical: Appointment to this role will be dependent upon you successfully passing medical checks, which may include a drug and hearing test. 

Hours/Location: Full time shift rota which includes working weekends and bank holidays. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00 Hours and 13:00 – 21:00 hours and 10:00 - 18:00 Hours at weekends and bank holidays on a rota.
