Import Export Freight Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Freight Operations Coordinator to progress their company with a progressive and expanding Freight Forwarder at their Heathrow office.

Successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of multi-modal Import and Export operations ensuring that clients requirements and expectations are met.

Role will involve all aspects of international freight forwarding from start to finish including -

Building excellent customer relationships to advise, determine and qualify their shipping requirements.

Obtain details (regulations, certificates, documentation) necessary for a full and accurate shipment quotation. Provide a "best in service approach" to ensure the customer’s request is fulfilled and satisfied.

Prepare profitable quotations accurately.

Set shipping schedules and communicate with customers, deliverers, and ports to verify loading, departures and arrivals in a timely manner.

Customs Brokerage for both export and import entries.

Coordinate the day-to-day import and/or export of products, including reviewing orders and documents.

Track and communicate all delays, damages, issues and work with the customer to resolve.

Manage all aspects of tracking shipments to ensure shipment is moving as scheduled and update system immediately upon verification.

Identify and rectify if a shipment has deviated from its schedule

Ensure all customers’ SOP instructions are adhered to and KPIs/tasks and guidelines are followed and met.

Experience

2 - 5 years Freight Forwarding experience

CargoWise experience would be an advantage.

Educated to a good standard of GCSEs with Maths & English level 5/C preferred.

A good standard of general computer skills - (knowledge in Microsoft Office; Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel would be advantageous.)

Salary range is £33K - £40K plus company benefits including 26 days annual holiday and Private Healthcare.
