Job Title: Import Operations Clerk

Location: London Gateway

About the Role:

A well-established freight forwarding client is seeking an experienced and proactive Import Operations Coordinator to join their busy team in London Gateway.

This is a hands-on operational role, working directly with the import team to manage container movements, handle documentation, and support seamless end-to-end delivery of ocean freight shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional service to clients, coordinating import activities
• Ensure shipments are cleared, released, and delivered efficiently and profitably.
• Work closely with customs clearance teams to track and support the timely completion of import entries.
• Coordinate container deliveries, liaising with hauliers and ensure timely receipt of goods.
• Request and process import releases from shipping lines, including handling necessary authorisations and payments.
• Chase and collate required shipping documentation.
• Communicate regularly with third-party agents and customers to keep them informed and resolve any issues promptly.

We're looking for candidates who have a strong understanding of customs procedures, transportation, as well as the flow of import, export, and cross-trade ocean freight shipments.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a Freight, Shipping or Import operations environment.
• Ideally knowledge of customs processes and familiarity with Destin8 and CNS platforms.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and internal logistics systems.
