This role is predominantly focused on ocean imports (approximately 95%), managing shipments primarily from China, India and South Asia.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing import shipments from start to finish, ensuring customers receive a seamless, efficient service throughout the entire process.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the complete import process from booking through to final delivery. Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents and partners. Creating and managing jobs on the internal operating system. Liaising with customers to obtain all required shipping documentation. Preparing documentation for customs clearance. Coordinating deliveries with transport providers. Communicating with customers, agents and suppliers throughout each shipment. Raising invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Ensuring all shipments are completed efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A minimum of 2 years' experience working within a freight forwarding operations environment. Previous experience handling ocean import shipments from start to finish. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously. A proactive approach and excellent attention to detail.Desirable:
Experience using the CDS customs system. The ability to complete customs entries.
What's on Offer?
£28,000 - £30,000 depending on experience. Monday to Friday working hours (9:00am - 5:00pm). 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
