Location: Spital Tongues, Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £30,179 per annum (£15.69 per hour)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time and part-time available

About the Role

We are recruiting a compassionate and enthusiastic Independent Living Support Worker with a British Sign Language (BSL) qualification to support two young adults with additional needs in their own home.

You will provide person-centred care, promote independence and use your BSL skills to support communication, daily living and community involvement.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide personal care and daily living support.

* Use BSL to support effective communication.

* Encourage independence, choice and personal development.

* Support social activities and community involvement.

* Assist individuals with autism and complex needs.

* Follow Positive Behaviour Support strategies and individual care plans.

* Work alongside other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

* Minimum Level 1 British Sign Language qualification (essential).

* Caring, patient and reliable attitude.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

* Understanding of autism and complex needs is desirable.

* Flexibility to work day shifts and waking nights.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
