About the role
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join a busy team based in Ampthill. As a General Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks as directed by the foreman. This can range from ensuring cabins are in a good clean state of repair before leaving the depot and ensuring the yard and general work areas remain organised, safe, and fully operational. 

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining equipment and supporting daily operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a Yard Operative looking for stable, long-term work with the potential to secure a permanent position. 

Key responsibilities
• Carry out general cleaning duties across the yard and cabins
• Assist with basic maintenance and housekeeping task.
• Support servicing of mobile units as required
• Support the loading and unloading of cabins safely and efficiently
• Follow instructions from the foreman to complete daily tasks
• Maintain a tidy and organised working environment

Skills and experience required

• Previous experience in a general operative role, yard operative role or something similar is beneficial. 
• Ability to carry out manual handling tasks
• Good awareness of health and safety practices
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

Must have Driving License for this role.
