Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is proud to be working in partnership with Pall Redruth, a world-leading manufacturer in the aerospace and industrial engineering sectors. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Industrial Chemist to maintain compliance of treatments (anodisation and crack detection) to NADCAP standards within a forward-thinking organisation renowned for precision engineering, technical innovation, and manufacturing excellence.
Key Duties
Work within production schedules and product process requirements to identify appropriate manufacturing methods.
Liaise with Engineering on prototype and development activities.
Ensure Health and Safety requirements are considered and incorporated into process design.
Assume responsibility for the safe implementation of changed processes, including written and verbal operating procedures.
Identify and develop production, assembly, and test processes and procedures.
Perform chemical and coolant testing.
Ensure quality characteristics and requirements are maintained.
Develop standard work in line with QD and NADCAP requirements.
Act as point of contact for NADCAP PRI (NDT, Heat Treat and Anodise).
Act as NADCAP audit focal point.
Monitor processes and analyse data.
Maintain documentation and records.
Create technique sheets.
Specify, order, and qualify tooling and fixtures.
Requirements
Engineering Degree, HND or HNC.
A minimum of three to five years' hands-on production or manufacturing engineering experience.
Familiarity with special process equipment for Surface Treatments, Heat Treatments, Non-Destructive Testing, and small machine/equipment design.
Knowledge of bills of materials, routings, manufacturing procedures, tooling and fixture design, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement principles, and NPI.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Competence in computer systems, including advanced Excel.
Customer-focused approach.
Ability to contribute proactively towards individual, departmental, and company objectives.
Ability to act as an agent for change.
Excellent project management skills.
Creative problem-solving ability.
Ability to analyse and interpret data.
Ability to work within cost constraints and deadlines.
Competent in the use of CNC machine tools, measuring instruments, and inspection procedures.
Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and process documentation.
At least three years' experience within a CNC machining or precision engineering environment.
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
Flexible and self-motivated approach with the ability to work a three-shift rotating pattern.
Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental procedures.
