Astral Legal have partnered with a leading Retail business in Hertfordshire as they are recruiting a Legal Counsel to join their well-established Legal team.

The ideal Legal Counsel will handle creating templates, preparing agreements with Franchises and developing policies with key senior stakeholders. You will be responsible for Commercial Contracts, In-house projects, risk, governance and all Legal work surrounding the Franchise businesses.

Working with stakeholders advising on drafting, negotiating and executing a wide variety of commercial contracts including framework agreements, purchase contracts, distribution agreements, services contracts, trial contracts, IT contracts, NDAs, letters of intent, termination notices

Advising the senior stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues including intellectual property, information technology and compliance.

Having policies, processes and practices in place to ensure strong compliance at all levels of the process.

Skills & experiences required for the Legal Counsel.

Qualified UK solicitor

Ideally the ideal Legal Counsel will have experience of working with Franchises although a strong Commercial Lawyer can be trained in this area.

Broad technical knowledge of all aspects of commercial law, including contract law, agency, competition law, data protection

Candidates from both In-House and Private Practice will be considered.
