Job Description - Initial Teacher Training Administrator

Are you an experienced, highly organised school administrator ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a dynamic ITT Administrator to join one of the region’s most respected education training providers — supporting the delivery of excellence in teacher training and professional development across their partner schools.

As the ITT Administrator, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the school-centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme, Early Career Teacher (ECT) coordination, and CPD operations across the network.

You will manage the end-to-end administration of the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) recruitment process, act as the first point of contact for all related enquiries, and liaise with schools, central services, and external agencies to ensure smooth programme delivery. From onboarding future teachers to maintaining compliance data, you’ll be at the heart of shaping tomorrow’s teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

Trainee Recruitment & Administration

  • Oversee the DfE Apply system and trainee portals
  • Organise the recruitment and interview process for prospective teachers
  • Monitor applications, maintain training resources, and ensure accurate records
  • Lead the onboarding and registration of new ITTs and ECTs in coordination with HR

Programme Coordination

  • Coordinate training calendars, events, meetings, and interview schedules
  • Maintain up-to-date records for trainees, mentors, and partner schools
  • Administer and support BMAT CPD requests, attendance logs, and registers

Communication & Website Management

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all NELTA-related queries
  • Manage and update the NELTA website and contacts database
  • Liaise regularly with central services (finance, HR), SLT members, and external providers

Compliance & Data Reporting

  • Support with compliance checks (KCSIE, Prevent, Safer Recruitment)
  • Assist in compiling and submitting DfE reports and census data
  • Ensure accurate course data and vacancies are published on DfE Publish

Required experience:

  • Strong administrative background in education or training
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Comfortable working with databases, portals, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks
  • Experience managing websites and/or content updates is a plus
