About the Role

Leicestershire Music is passionate about transforming young lives through music. Working with thousands of children and young people across the county, we provide instrumental and vocal tuition, ensembles, events and performance opportunities that inspire creativity, confidence and achievement.

We're looking for an Instrument and Resources Technician to play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our music education services across Leicester & Leicestershire.

This is an exciting and varied role for a highly organised, practical and self-motivated individual who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for ensuring that our extensive stock of musical instruments and resources are distributed to where they are needed and support with the tracking, maintenance and upkeep of them, ensuring that they are available, safe and fit for purpose for children, young people and schools across the city and county.

The successful candidate will manage instrument hire records and stock control systems, coordinate delivery and collection schedules, drive and load a service van, and maintain efficient storage facilities. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure that concerts, events, lessons and musical activities are properly resourced and delivered smoothly.

We are looking for someone with experience in stock management, logistics planning and database systems, alongside good communication skills and excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of musical instruments and resources would be advantageous, as would the ability to prioritise workloads effectively and work with minimal supervision.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

• NVQ level 2 or equivalent e.g. 4 GCSEs (grades A-C)


• Clean driving license and experience of driving and loading a van safely and efficiently 


• Experience of using stock management processes and procedures and planning delivery and collection logistics 


• Knowledge of musical instruments and other musical resources 


• Good communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work methodically, accurately and with attention to detail and to work independently with minimum supervision as well as part of a team. 


• Highly organised and able to plan time effectively
