Be part of something bigger than lessons - Inspire a generation of young musicians.

Norfolk Music Service is at the heart of music education across the county, working in partnership with schools, communities and cultural organisations to unlock musical potential in every child and young person.

As the lead organisation for the Norfolk & Suffolk Music Hub, we are shaping a bold, ambitious and inclusive future for music education across the region. This is an exciting moment to join a forward-thinking team that is passionate about creativity, collaboration and widening access to music.

We are looking for musicians who connect, inspire and bring music to life - in classrooms, communities and beyond.

The opportunity
We are seeking a Music Teacher to join our dynamic team and welcome applications from creative, engaging musicians who thrive on working with young people and can deliver high-quality music-making in a variety of settings.

This role may also be considered as a job share, where more than one candidate meets the key criteria.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of whole class teaching and we encourage applications from multi-instrumentalists and those with a diverse musical practice.

What you’ll bring
Under the direction of the Hub Manager, you will:

  • Design and deliver high-quality, engaging music experiences in schools and educational settings
  • Inspire pupils through whole-class teaching, small groups and individual work
  • Create inclusive, accessible learning environments where every child can see themselves as a musician
  • Contribute to a wider programme of work that supports the ambitions of the Music Service and Music Hub

Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for musicians who:

  • Have extensive, current experience of teaching in school settings, including classroom instrumental teaching
  • Bring energy, creativity and presence - you can motivate and inspire even the most reluctant learners
  • Have a high level of musical skill on your primary instrument (additional instruments are a real advantage)
  • Understand the evolving landscape of music education and are excited by innovation and partnership working
  • Are committed to raising aspirations, inclusion and musical excellence for all children and young people

Why join us?

  • Be part of a region-wide Music Hub shaping the future of music education
  • Work alongside a passionate, supportive and highly skilled team
  • Make a real difference to the lives of children and young people through music
  • Deliver work that goes beyond lessons - performances, projects, events and partnerships
