The company works with a varied customer base across many different industries. The Role This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified or experienced engineer with strong fault-finding skills who is looking to broaden their knowledge and develop their instrumentation and calibration experience. The role involves on-site calibration contracts, troubleshooting and call outs at customer premises, alongside workshop and office-based duties at the Witton facility. The successful candidate will generally work alone, with a partner when required, and will have daily contact with customers. A structured training programme will be provided to develop instrumentation and calibration knowledge. Key Responsibilities Carry out on-site calibration contracts, troubleshooting and call outs at customer premises Build electrical control panels Carry out workshop repairs Test temperature sensors Complete reports and calibration certificates Explain technical findings and recommendations directly to customers Assist with office administration duties when required at the Witton facility Carry out occasional delivery duties Work independently and use own initiative Work as part of a team depending on site and job requirements Work to weekly programmes, with some emergency call outs provided with one day's notice Travel UK-wide, with some work in Ireland Attend regular customer sites where required Requirements Essential Good sound working knowledge of electrical circuits Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills Ability to converse confidently with customers face to face Excellent working knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Word and Excel Full UK driving licence Ability to work independently and as part of a team A professional and respectful approach to customers and colleagues Desirable Previous instrumentation or calibration experience Knowledge of Eurotherm controllers Experience with temperature measurement or sensor testing Knowledge of UKAS or ISO9001 standards Experience with industrial control systems Background in industrial electrical, controls, automation, instrumentation or maintenance What’s In It For You Salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, subject to experience Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, if a 1-hour lunch is taken Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm Occasional overtime as required Overtime paid at 1.5 x standard rate midweek and Saturday Overtime paid at 2 x standard rate on Sundays and Bank Holidays No 24-hour call-out customer arrangements currently offered Annual salary reviews Bonus available if a large contract or sale is won via the engineer Structured training programme in instrumentation and calibration Further training courses in relevant areas as required Additional allowances for overnight stays Meals, breakfast and overnight expenses paid Expenses paid monthly on production of authorised receipts 20 days holiday per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays, increasing with length of service People's Pension scheme available Company vehicle provided, normally a van but potentially an estate car Company vehicle available from the engineer's home Private use of company vehicle permitted Business fuel fully reimbursed Company vehicle servicing provided Company mobile phone Accommodation paid when working away overnight Overalls, boots and safety PPE provided All test equipment and safety equipment supplied by the company What’s next?
