Position Title: Intake Team Lead

Overall Purpose


The Potato receiving Team Leader plays a crucial role in manufacturing and supply chain environments, overseeing the procurement, quality, and smooth flow of raw materials necessary for efficient production. This position combines leadership, organizational, and technical skills to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with company and industry standards.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities



  1. Lead a shift team of multi-skilled operatives to deliver production targets whilst ensuring that all safety, food safety and OEE targets and standards are met.

  2. Work collaboratively with other Stake holders to ensure the effective running of the operation.

  3. Work supportively with our colleagues to drive our continuous improvement through MDI:

    1. Lead team huddles.

    2. Support CID routes & Centreline management for your area.

    3. Conduct Safety and Food Safety Coaching conversations and audits.

    4. Support uptime by taking an active role in our defect handling process.



  4. Respond pro-actively to hour-by-hour variance to plan “abnormality management”

  5. To coach and support team members to achieve full multi-skilling of all operatives, through the creation of opportunities for up-skilling and training which support this

  6. Undertake safety and food safety investigations as required

  7. Manage the performance of team members, addressing areas for improvement and undertaking performance reviews in line with the annual performance cycle (P@M).

  8. To ensure optimum staffing levels are achieved through the pro-active management of holidays and other absences.

  9. Work with Team Leaders and Shift Managers to ensure that operatives are flexible and utilised across the department to support the whole team.

  10. Manage day to day issues relating to your team, including absence, disciplinary matters and grievances in line with Company policy

  11. Undertake project work at area, site, department or regional level, as required ensuring it is delivered to agreed standards and timescales.

  12. Ensure that SOP’s and SWM’s are in place, that all colleagues are working to them and take responsibility for ensuring that opportunities for optimisation of working practices are implemented and documents updated to reflect them.

  13. To ensure that daily and weekly cleaning schedules are completed in line with 5s, Health and Food Safety and Environmental standards

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK?


The role is primarily Monday to Friday dayshift, 40 hours per week You’ll be based at our Wombourne plant in Staffordshire. And together our small, but perfectly formed team of over 110 colleagues produce our famous (and well loved) potato Smiles as well as our pre-baked Jacket Spuds.
