Interim Senior Legal Counsel / Corporate Banking Lawyer – International Bank – 6 Months

Our client, a major international bank is currently seeking a contractor for a 6-month period (minimum) to join their Corporate Banking Legal - Advisory team. This role is to backfill a permanent team member whilst they are on maternity leave.
The contractor will be expected to have 5+ years transactional banking experience in a private practice finance/banking team with a focus on lending & debt finance, leveraged finance experience would be beneficial.
Role :
The role that the contractor will perform includes providing legal advice, guidance and support to the banks’ Large Corporate business in connection with:
banking products, in particular the provision of lending products, credit and transactions and taking security
general day-to-day transactional, and other customer-facing, legal enquiries and to supervise others in doing the same
initiatives and change programmes, including transformation activities such as creating playbooks for common queries
provision of regulated lending and other-related products
redress and remediation programmes.
Responsibilities:
support the Team Head with the provision of legal advice and legal risk management controls and initiatives
build relationships with stakeholders overseeing the legal support provided across the bank in relation to the business areas supported by the role holder (primarily Large Corporates)
identify, formulate, co-ordinate and communicate policies, procedures and controls to ensure that the Group’s exposure to legal risk in the Commercial Banking business is effectively managed
