Location: North London Contract: Interim, initially until December Working Pattern: 3–4 days per week Day Rate: Up to £300 per day Start Date: ASAP
Our client, a leading college in North London, is seeking an experienced Interim Curriculum Manager for English to provide strong leadership and management across the department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced English leader who can quickly establish themselves within a new environment, provide effective day-to-day management, and support a team in maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and student outcomes.
The Role
As Interim Curriculum Manager for English, you will take responsibility for the effective leadership and management of the department, working closely with colleagues to ensure the continued delivery of a high-quality curriculum.
You will provide clear direction and support to the team, whilst ensuring departmental standards, performance and expectations are maintained throughout the interim period.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strong day-to-day leadership and management of the English department.
* Support, motivate and develop members of the teaching team.
* Ensure high standards of teaching, learning and assessment are maintained.
* Oversee the effective delivery and development of the English curriculum.
* Monitor departmental performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Work collaboratively with senior leaders and other curriculum areas.
* Ensure departmental policies, procedures and quality standards are consistently followed.
* Provide stability and effective leadership during the interim period.
About You
We are looking for an experienced English leader with a strong track record within further or post-16 education.
You will ideally have:
* Previous experience of leading or managing an English department or curriculum area.
* Strong knowledge of English teaching and learning within a college or post-16 setting.
* Proven experience of supporting and managing teaching staff.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* The ability to quickly build effective relationships and establish credibility within a new team.
* A proactive, solution-focused approach and the confidence to provide clear leadership.
