Harmonic are delighted to be partnering exclusively with one of the UK's most reputable and well renowned theatre / performing arts institutions, in the search for a Finance Director to join their supportive and values led team during this exciting period of change. This fractional role will be 2 days a week, on an initial 3 month contract with possibility to extend, sitting Outside IR35.

Led by a senior leadership team of fantastic, experienced theatre space professionals, our client has been an incredible presence within the space since the 19th century! With a regular array of performances and productions taking place every week, there is an eclectic mix of theatre, live music, panto and comedy on offer. Winning regular industry awards, our client are extremely proud of their venue and offerings to customers, attracting thousands to their performances every month.

The Role:

Working closely with a newly appointed Executive Director with a fresh and exciting new vision for the theatre, this role will be broad in nature, offering strategic support while mentoring the Financial Controller and Finance Officer. As Finance Director, you will lead and inspire the Finance team, shaping strategy, setting clear targets, and tracking performance. You will ensure key stakeholders receive timely, accurate, and relevant financial information, including budgets, management accounts, and cash flow forecasts.

Duties:

• Plan annual budgets with ED and budget holders
• Meet regularly with the Executive Director, and other budget holders to discuss financial performance and any other financial matters
• Review management accounts generated by FC and prepare full quarterly financial reports
• Review cash flow forecasts with FC
• Provide financial reporting and analysis
• Prepare annual statutory accounts and liaise with auditors to finalise
• Implement and review robust financial systems, policies and procedures
• Maintain and review financial systems, policies and procedures

• Significant experience within finance and accounting
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong time management skills
• Passion for the arts!

What we need to see (bonus):

• Performing arts / theatre experience

Start Date: ASAP

Day Rate: £300 - £400 (Outside IR35)

Location: East London
